BFP Gears up for the Fire Prevention Month This March

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is ushering a bolder and more persistent Fire Prevention Month as it had lined up different information campaigns and activities targeted towards the different sectors of the society. Through the leadership of CSUPT Rolando M Bandilla Jr CESO IV, Officer-in-charge of the BFP, and the initiative of CSUPT Carlito S Romero, over-all Chairman of the Fire Prevention Month and SRSUPT Rodrigo R Abrazaldo, Chairman of the Steering Committee, plans and programs for the said annual event have been laid down focusing on the theme Fire Safety: A Challenge, Concern and Priority of Everybody.

     The month – long observance will include on-the-spot drawing, essay writing, poster-making, oratory and photo contests within Metro Manila. Meanwhile, in the Regional Offices, Fire Olympics, Fun Run, and Barangay Ugnayan will be the highlight of the programs. 

     To jumpstart, a motorcade around Quezon City Elliptical Road and formal kick-off ceremony will be held on March 1 to be participated by political figures, stakeholders, fellow fire safety practitioners and the general public. The culminating program will be on March 31 at the BFP- National Headquarters Parade Ground.

     In its objective to double efforts in heightening public awareness on fire safety and prevention, the BFP will implement a massive information campaign nationwide through the use of mass media, which will consists of TV and radio guestings, conduct of seminars, and distribution of print materials on Fire Safety Tips.
