The program is one of the strategies in addressing the continually increasing number of fire incidence resulting in substantial losses in property, lives and economic opportunities.
The program aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To implement a sustained and focused fire safety awareness campaign that addresses the most Vulnerable sectors of society from the damaging effect of fire;
- To gain media mileage on fire safety awareness campaign and utilize the same as an effective tool in improving the visibility and image of BFP;

- To institutionalize fire prevention effort as a better alternative to fire suppression in minimizing the destructive effect of conflagration; and
- To regain the waning trust of the public on the capability of the government to provide the basic service fire protection.
To ensure successful implementation of the Program, the following principles strategies will be pursued:
- Fire safety awareness campaign shall be focused on pre-identified but critical categories of occupancies to attain maximum impact of the program;
- Advocacy and media mileage must be achieved through firemen visibility and intensified and actual conduct of fire prevention activities; and
- The awareness campaign shall be done in close coordination with the affected sectors of both private and government institutions to gain support and ensure continuity of the campaign. The campaign intends to elevate the Bureau’s fire prevention effort to a level of intensity and vigor as presently being practiced during the annual celebration of the Fire Prevention Month of March. It centers on a few but critical sectors of society or categories of occupancies to attain maximum impact of the program. Pre-identified sectors are assigned as focal points for each month of the year while become the priority area of consideration for the Bureau’s fire prevention activities for that particular month. As such, field personnel are properly guided in the conduct of fire prevention activities.
