BFP Pays Courtesy Call with

Starting the year 2011 on the right track, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) pays courtesy call with the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government on January 4, 2011 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Crame.
BFP Chief DIR ROLANDO M BANDILLA, JR, CESO IV, together with other BFP-NHQ key officers, attended the activity. BFP Regional Directors from different regions nationwide, including the FNTI Director were also present. Other participants include officers and commissioners from the DILG, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) and Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC).
In his message, DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo focused on the theme, “Tapat na Palakad ng Bayang Maunlad” which conveys proper governance, accountability and transparency in all programs and projects of the agencies under its supervision. Robredo also cited the “3 key principles” that would carry out a more effective and quality public service.
Meanwhile, at 3 p.m., BFP key officers made a courtesy call with Fire Chief DIR BANDILLA at the Conference Room of BFP National Headquarters.
In a short program, the Fire Chief mentioned some of the highpoints that the bureau had accomplished last year which include the procurement of equipment such as fire trucks, rescue vans, rubber boats, amphibious truck, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA); crafting of Republic Act 9514 IRR and Organizational Development; additional Php8,400 bonus for all BFP employees aside from Php3,000 additional bonus for PNoy’s; and the successful celebration of Family Day last Dec. 17, 2010 with DILG Secretary Robredo as guest.
Further, Bandilla laid the program thrusts of the BFP for CY 2011 which prioritizes the procurement of the power take-off (PTO) fire trucks.
Looking forward to 2011, the Bureau of Fire Protection will continue to upgrade its firefighting equipment and facilities, and enhance its manpower to cope with the continuous battle against destructive fires. The bureau also appeals to everyone to be partners in promoting fire safety. BFP believes that community participation is one great factor to achieve a fire-free community.//
